Your WebM's audio is Opus, and that is good news
Opus is the best lossy audio codec in common use: at 96 kbps it comfortably beats MP3 at 128, and browsers record with it because it was designed for exactly that. When you ask for MP3, that Opus has to be decoded and compressed again with an older, less efficient encoder — which works, and costs a little.
The alternative this page offers is to take the Opus track out exactly as it is, in an .opus file. Nothing is decoded, nothing is re-encoded, it finishes in seconds and the file is typically half the size of the equivalent MP3. Chrome, Firefox, Edge, VLC and Android all play it; older Apple software often does not, which is the one reason to pick MP3 instead.
Worth being precise about: there is no Opus encoder here. The Opus encoder crashes this WebAssembly build, and substituting FFmpeg's experimental one would quietly hand you a worse file. So Opus appears as an option only when your video already contains Opus, and only ever as a copy.
Screen recordings and what got captured
Most WebM files people want audio from are recordings of something: a meeting, a stream, a browser tab. The common disappointment is not the conversion but the capture — a recording made with “share tab audio” switched off has no soundtrack at all, and a recording that captured only the microphone has your voice and nothing else. The extractor names that case explicitly rather than handing back an empty file.
Discord and OBS clips
Discord's clips and OBS's WebM output both carry Opus, and both extract the same way. OBS can also record into MKV or MP4, where the audio is usually AAC instead — that case is covered by the MKV and MP4 pages, and the copy option there is M4A rather than .opus.
